Our brand, as an example of a First Fix pack
This is our own identity, produced the same way a First Fix brand pack is produced for a customer. Below is what that looks like: a logo set, a colour and type system, written guidelines, a brand story and voice reference, and ready-to-use letterhead and invoice templates.
The logo set
Seven ways the same mark is used: the primary mark, a high-visibility alternate, the wordmark in three colourways, a stacked lockup for square placements, and the favicon at the size it actually appears in a browser tab.
logo-mark.svg
Primary. Default everywhere — bone, paper or sand grounds.
logo-mark-hivis.svg
Approved alternate. Used where visibility matters most.
logo-wordmark.svg
Primary horizontal lockup, light grounds. Handoff and external use.
logo-wordmark-reversed.svg
Dark grounds — ink or steel section backgrounds.
logo-wordmark-mono.svg
Single colour — stamp, engraving, one-colour print.
logo-stacked.svg
Stacked lockup — square placements: social avatars, a vehicle door, a compliance plate.
favicon.svg — shown at 16px
A different, simplified geometry with no bubble — the tab-strip size where colour, not detail, does the identifying work.
Construction and clearspace
The mark is built on a fixed grid, so it scales cleanly from a favicon to a vehicle door. Clearspace and minimum sizes are set as rules, not guesses.
Clearspace
Clearspace on every side equals one H stem width — markWidth × 0.156. Nothing, not type, a rule or an image edge, enters that zone.
Minimum sizes
Below 24px the bubble smears into the crossbar and the mark reads as two brackets, which is why the favicon uses a separate, simplified geometry instead of a scaled-down version of the main mark. Below 160px wide, the wordmark's type breaks down before the mark does — the mark is used alone at that point.
Palette
Twelve colours, each with a defined role and a checked contrast ratio, so the palette behaves the same way on a phone in daylight as it does on a screen.
ink #0D1B2A
Primary text on light. Dark section grounds. The mark's tile.
steel #16304A
Secondary dark ground — nested panels, footer upper band.
slate #3E4C5E
Body copy on light grounds.
muted #5E6B7C
Meta, captions, labels. Minimum size 14px.
rule #7C8897
Borders that carry meaning — input fields, focusable edges.
line #D8DDE4
Decorative hairlines only. Never an input border.
bone #F6F3EE
Default page ground. Warm paper.
paper #FFFFFF
Cards, raised surfaces, alternating bands.
sand #FFE9D6
Warm tint band, the Homes lane's accent ground.
hivis #F26722
The action colour. Fill and large-display colour only.
rust #9A3A10
Orange as text — links and accent type on light grounds.
signal #1B6B45
“Done / included / verified” only. Never decorative.
The two-step orange is the rule most often broken. hivis is a fill and large-display colour — at 3.12:1 on white it cannot carry body text. rust is the orange used for text and links. line is decorative only; rule is the border colour that clears the 3:1 non-text contrast requirement.

Invoice
Brand story, in short
Husband Digital is a small Sydney firm that sets up the technology Australian trades, small businesses and busy households depend on: websites, email, networks, backups, cameras and automation.
We install it properly, document it so it's yours, and quote a fixed price in writing before anything starts. Behind the work sits a team of AI agents that drafts, builds and checks it, with our people setting the direction and owning every decision.
Husbandry is the careful management of the things you depend on. That's the dictionary meaning, and it's the service.
Voice and tone
Plain, confident and professional. Second person, present tense, short sentences. No hype words, no exclamation marks, no mateship costume.
The opening line
BeforeTechnology that behaves the way the rest of the house does.
AfterWe set it up, write it all down, and answer the phone afterwards.
Names the outcome instead of describing a quality.
Backup, explained plainly
BeforeWe install NAS systems configured for automated backup of workstations, servers and cloud services.
AfterEvery job, invoice and customer record is copied automatically to a second location, kept separate from the original.
Same fact, told as a plain outcome rather than a product spec.
What we are
BeforeWe are a full-service digital marketing and IT solutions provider.
AfterWe are not an agency, not a marketing company, and not the cheapest option — and we say so plainly.
Saying what we are not is the fastest way a stranger works out what we are.
Dos and don'ts
Do
- Use the primary mark as the default; reach for the wordmark only where the name must be read.
- Keep the tile's corner radius proportional when scaling.
- Put the primary mark on bone, paper, sand, or photography with a dark scrim.
- Use the high-visibility mark where visibility genuinely matters — a vehicle, signage, a site board.
- Use the favicon below 24px, without exception.
Don't
- Don't recolour the mark outside the approved files. No gradients, no shadows, no outlines, no glow.
- Don't rotate, skew, stretch or condense it. Uniform scale only.
- Don't remove the bubble from the mark to “clean it up” — the bubble is the idea.
- Don't set the mark smaller than 24px or the wordmark narrower than 160px.
- Don't place high-vis orange type on the steel dark ground — it fails accessibility contrast rules.
- Don't rebuild the wordmark by typing the name in a different font — use the supplied files.
